Contemporary Glass and Jewelry Artist

a little bit about me…

I am Cecilia Lopez Bravo, a versatile artist who specializes in creating contemporary jewelry and glass pieces. I was born in Miami, USA, in 1975 and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

My journey as a glass artist began in 2007 when I decided to explore this medium on my own. As a self-taught artist, I was drawn to the endless possibilities that glass offered and was eager to experiment with various techniques. In pursuit of furthering my skills, I had the opportunity to learn from renowned artists in the field, which allowed me to expand my understanding of glass and its properties. Through these courses, I gained invaluable knowledge on the various techniques used in glass art such as fused glass, flame working, cast glass, and stained glass.

I find inspiration in the simplest and most complex aspects of life. My artistic vision is a reflection of the world around me, as I see it, or as I perceive it. Nature, with its infinite complexity and beauty, has been a powerful source of inspiration for me, The organic shapes, repetitive patterns, and delicate imperfections found in the natural world are reflected in my work.

Additionally, my travels to different parts of the world have exposed me to a wide range of cultures, art forms, and perspectives. Each new experience brings a fresh perspective and a new way of seeing the world, inspiring me to incorporate these influences into my work.

However, my inspiration is not limited to external sources alone. Introspection and self-exploration also play a significant role in my creative process. By immersing myself in my work and paying attention to the little things, I often discover new inspirations and ideas that come from within.
Incorporating all of these diverse sources of inspiration, my work aims to capture the essence of the world around us, while also reflecting my own unique artistic vision. Each piece is a journey of exploration, an attempt to capture the beauty and complexity of the world in a way that is both intricate and understandable.
Today, I am based in both New York and Mendoza, Argentina, where I continue to create unique and visually striking pieces that blend contemporary jewelry and glass art. I have exhibited my work in the US, Europe and South America.
